I'm 164 pages in to the 485 pages of An Infamous Army by Georgette Heyer. If you are an Austen fan then this would be perfect after you've set down Emma. It's a little hard to get into it but once you start it is just so hard to put down. The cover says it is a novel of 'love, war, Wellington, and Waterloo' and it's great. First published in 1937 this latest reprint is being done by Sourcebooks.

The main romance centers around Lady Barbara Childe, a wild widow and Colonel Charles Audley, a very proper upstanding gentleman. He proposes to her almost as soon as he meets her and she finds that she can't resist him. Oh, be still my beating heart!

You're already a fourth of the way through it? Man, you're fast. And thank you - I've always loved the combination of black and red.

It's just so hard to put down! I spent most of last night reading it.

I'm getting closer to finishing Seeing Redd, but having to get up at eight in the morning every day this week for my job, I've needed to be in bed and half-way asleep by midnight. Truly the only con to my job.

I have to be at work by 8 which means I'm up around 6 to get ready and drive up there. I understand needing to get to bed a by 12. :) But at least it's a paycheck.

I wish I knew when the next book in the series comes out. I haven't seen anything on it and the ending of Seeing Redd kind of leaves you wondering what the heck is going to happen next.

He might be still writing it. Haven't see any advance pre-orders for anything under Frank Beddor, so he's probably taking his time with it. Or concentrating right now on the movie deal he's trying to negotiate for the books. I'd definitely watch those!

You must be right about the book. I bet it will be out sometime in 2008. Oh well. I heard about the movie deal (and game deals, and playing card deals, and all those other deals) he has going on. They need to hurry up and do it.

Yeah, when the next one is to come out around mid-2008 or later, we probably won't hear anything until the end of this year or early next year. No worries - I'm a patient person when it comes to books. :)
