Suckered Again...

ISBN: 0312377630
Format: Hardcover, 192pp
Publisher: St. Martin's Press
Price: $17.95

Here we go again Plum fans. The newest 'between-the-numbers' novella has been announced. It will hit bookshelves January 8, 2008 and at barely under 200 pages is going to be almost $20! What is wrong with this picture? The last one, Plum 'Lovin was a dollar cheaper! I'm feeling ripped off.

And these 'between-the-numbers' books are fun but they don't advance the storyline any. The love triangle of Ranger, Morelli, and Stephanie never changes and after Lean Mean Thirteen something needs to happen. But I doubt this will be the book to make those changes.

But I'm going to buy it anyway.(even though at $20 with tax I should know better and wait for the paperback!) I'll read and enjoy it for what it is; pure fluff with some characters I just really like. The sad thing is Plum 'Lovin had a lot more humor in it than the last few full novels and I feel this one will be the same. Is there hope for the 14th Plum mystery if the 'between-the-numbers' novellas are ten times better?

I just bet you have your order in for a copy thru amazon.com...do you ever order audio books and listen?

I haven't put my order in yet... but I did think about it :)

I listen to a lot of audio books. I spend twenty minutes in the car one way to work so I've got more than enough time to spend with one.

the price is what really kills me on those though! so expensive!

I was disappointed the last time I read one of her books - can't remember which one. I started out liking her a lot but I've stopped for the most part.
The alphabet novels (I cannot remember names to save my life!)about the female insurance investigator that jogs and lives at the beach (I can tell you what she ate for breakfast but not the name of the author!!!); they were great at the beginning but I think I dropped out at about "L"
BTW, I've ordered "The Intruders" and am anxious to read it!

I wondered what the price ran on audio books and if many could be obtained at a local library. I suspect that only older books considered classics would be available at a library and newer ones not. I will have to do some research into this because I spend over an hour in the car going to work (one way) and if I could listen to books, maybe even I might do reviews someday :)

Gracie! I was disappointed too! I don't know why I still keep buying them! I've been suckered in :)

Let me know what you think of 'The Intruders' I really liked... it was just... wow. it makes you go 'wow' at the end.

Leroy, if you have an ipod or something like that there are several companies online that offer audiobooks for pretty cheap. but itunes has them for the same price you would pay if you bought it at barnes and noble....
