I must admit that when it comes to this list I haven't read any of them. I've read about a few, On Chesil Beach and The Reluctant Fundamentalist both of which seemed to have a lot of buzz around them when they first came out. The rest... sadly nothing. But I will look into each and every one.
The Man Booker Prize, first established in 1968, is the world's most important literary award. Awarded to only the very best in fiction it has the power to change the fortunes of authors and even publishers. Any full-length novel written by a citizen of the Commonwealth or Republic of Ireland is eligible for the award.

- The Sea by John Banville (2005)
- The Life of Pi by Yann Martel (2002)
- The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood (2000)
- The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy (1997)

I have two of the above in my to-be-read pile at home right this moment. The Blind Assassin and The God of Small Things which I didn't know were prize winners until I looked at the list on the Booker homepage. I'm looking forward to reading them.

I read an interesting Booker prize winner a few years ago: "Vernon God Little" by DBC Pierre. I'll have to check out this year's list.

It's the "Commonwealth OR the Republic of Ireland" ...and I think that includes all former Commonwealth nations like Canada and India but not the US. Until I marry my Canadian girlfriend, I can't win this award. =:-)

The only one of these I have read is The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood. I enjoyed it but I love everything I have read by her. Though the only thing I have in my collection is her poetry books. When I was living in Vancouver with a friend she was going to give a lecture at the Writer's Festival but I left town just before it happen or I would have gotten tickets.

I haven't read any of these. My reading is so lite compared to yours. I just finished "All Shall Be Well," Deborah Crombie, and "Daddy's Girl," by Lisa Scottoline.

I read Life of Pi a while back with a book group and I still can't tell you too much what I thought of it. I may have to revisit it.
Like you, I have Blind Assassin on my to be read pile. I bought it a while back and never quite found the right time to read it. I did like Oryx and Crake by the same author though and I have heard lots of good things about Blind Assassin.
Charlene, everyone seems to like Life of Pi really well. I guess I'll read that one too sooner or later.
I've never read anything else by M. Atwood... I hope it is just as good as the things of hers you have read. :)
