Have you heard of GoodReads? It's a free site where you can connect with other readers. You can add and review books you are currently reading, going to read, or have already read. It's a great way to share what you love with others or find something new. You start by just searching for your books, adding them to your catalogue where you can organize them on shelves. They also give you little widgets to put on your blog. And best of all there is no limit to the number of books you can add. It's all free. Check out GoodReads, and if you do let me know so I can add you as a friend.

How does it compare to LibraryThing and Shelfari?

I like it a lot better than LibraryThing so far. You don't have to pay to have after 200 books at GoodReads and the format is a lot nicer, cleaner feeling. Though most of the features are the same.

I haven't tried Shelfari before, I'll have to check it out. I know you have a LibraryThing widget on your blog, do you use Shelfari as well?

I have a Shelfari account, but I don't really use it. It's blocked at my office, so it's too hard to keep updated.
Is GoodReads fairly easy to enter books to your "shelf"?

It's pretty easy. You have to know the author or the title of the book. There isn't a feature for just browsing by genre or anything. But you can look at other's 'shelves' and if you see a title that you want to read or have read but couldn't remember the name of it's really easy just to add.

Angela, yeah, it's pretty easy. You just use the search engine to search for it, click 'add to shelf', and put it in the right category (currently reading, to read or read). :) I like it so far.

MiniJonB, it's fun. I've already spent way too much time adding books to my shelves and... wasting time :) Keep working on your novel. You'll get there!
